DIY ARMY #D102
Found these at a market in Johannesburg. Fair quality with a nice amount of detail and lots of accessories included. Once you fit the weapon belt between the torso and the legs, there does tend to be a clutch problem - you would need to add a little glue to ensure the figure does not keep falling apart.
LEGO® SPEED CHAMPIONS # 75913 - F14 T & SCUDERIA FERRARI TRUCK
As the most expensive set in the the first Speed Champions wave (884 pieces), we were hesitant in making the purchase, it did turn out to be well worth the investment! We were amazed by the share scale of the model as can be seen in the comparative photo below (Set #60025).
The trailer is a massive 10 wide build with the cab coming in at 8 wide, take note that as with most of the range, there are a lot of stickers to apply.
6 minifigs all clearly branded as part of the Ferrari team and we love the inclusion of the scooter.
2 minifigs are easily accommodated next to each other in the cab, which makes for a nice change.
Overall a really enjoyable build with the final model providing just the right amount of realism and detail.
MIXELS
Not something we would have considered adding to the collection, however after receiving two as a birthday gift, it looks like there will be many more added.
Series 6 (#41551) - SNAX; consists of 51 pieces and turned out to be a fun build with violet and purple pieces.
Series 7 (#41555) - BUSTO; 69 pieces and provides a selection of useful parts to use in other building projects.

ENLIGHTEN CITY SERIES # 1111 - GARBAGE TRUCK
One of the sets from the new Enlighten Range we found during a recent trip to Johannesburg.
198 pieces and comes with two minifigs. A great little build with some nice details - the brushes are linked to the wheels via gears and turn when the vehicle is moved. Enlighten has always printed directly on the bricks and it was disappointing to see the use of stickers in this model. For the first time the packets are numbered. There is also some improvement in the instructions and clear similarities can be noted to the leading brand.
TIME ON THE UMLALAZI RIVER
What a fantastic way to while away an afternoon.
After such an enjoyable outing we just had to capture the memory in blocks!
