ENLIGHTEN COMBAT ZONES SERIES #823 - TANK

This has been on the shelf for close on a year and finally got around to the build over the weekend. Not sure what Tank is being replicated with the 466 pieces; completed model is a great, robust tank offering a lot of play-ability. We did have to add a few extra pieces for slight modifications so the hatches can close properly. Further more we replaced the rocket launcher with a machine gun.

Overall good quality bricks, an impressive & enjoyable build, with nice details included. As with most Enlighten sets, two alternate builds are shown on the back of the box - no instructions included for these though

LEGO® CREATOR #31050 - CORNER DELI

Creator sets are always great, and with our food background we waited excitedly for this set. 467 pieces with 2 mini-figures and plans for the main build and two alternates. We were though a little disappointed that a chef was not included.

Build 1 - Flower Shop; fairly well executed with some nice detailing and colour use.

Build 2 - Small Town House; the name says it all, the model is small fitting on an 8x8 plate and leaves behind a lot of parts.

Main Build - Corner Deli; A great build with clever use of parts and some interesting detailing. We have now purchased a 2nd set and are in the process with our MOC or the Deli.

LEGO® SPEED CHAMPIONS # 75910 - PORSCHE 918 SPYDER

Another Speed Champion set, our favourite from the first wave of individual cars. The model is relatively accurate and manages to capture much of the key detail.

The minifig is as customary with these sets is branded for Porsche and features the mandatory wrench. A alternate set of wheel detail is also included.

LEGO® MOVIE #70811 - THE FLYING FLUSHER

2 in 1 sets are always great and as fans of the movie had tremendous fun building both options. 70811 comes with 351 pieces with three mini-figs; Plumber Joe, Alfie the Apprentice & Dr. McScrubs. An alternate face is provided for the Doc.

First up the flying flusher with a micro manager, clever adaptive use of standard pieces provides for a fairly durable model.

Joe's plumbing van has some nice details and will definitely find a place in our brick city, along with the 'porta poty'.

JUBILUX #J5670A - BUSY CHANNEL

From the Jubilux ship series and purchased at a reduced price makes for an exceptional part price of ZAR 0.31. With 801 pieces and providing for an 8in1 build (plans for alternative builds are included) and good quality bricks with no clutching or alignment issues.

A quick and straight forward build that produces fairly simple models. The scale between the items is a little off and we would have preferred slightly bigger containers with a little more detail. All in all a good purchase with plenty of parts that can be incorporated into future builds.
